a band ahead of their time - this cd needs to be remaster/or rerecorded to update the sound.I ve heard these track live then and now brutal thrash but the production take a ton of the heavy out of these songs.noone sounded like them and noone ever could very original powermetal with a definite thrash edge these guys from seattle should have relocated to sf bay area they belonged there and had many ties with metallica rumours of getting lars to play with them and laster james guitar tech john marshal joining metal church and returning to metallica for a short covering of james spot due to his burns(marshal can certainly play guitar I saw him playing livewiththem at that time)metal church is a great band during the first 4 cds!
Old School Rules - I loved this album better than their next one. It s just got that eerily hard heavy, dare I say, medievel sound. The remix of the old Deep Purple song does it justice. You can t go wrong with this one--give it a listen.
Classic 80 s metal - Metal Church s s/t first album is a great addition to any headbangers collection ! I had to repurchase this for mine was lost somewhere ?! In my opinion this is the bands best album . There is some excellent musicianship and vocals on this album . Off the top of my head I am unsure of the original release date , but I owned it on tape as well , lol . If that isn t enough to get you to buy it , look at the price , hell of a deal !
Essential 4.6 - Metal Church never got huge, but this CD sold well. 85 was a good year for thrash/Metal in general, and this CD is near the top of the heap! The first 4 tracks flow perfectly. The production and mix still sound good today (nearly 25 years later). The follow up The Dark was good as well, but this is their best CD.Only complaint is that is so short. Only 8 tracks (excluding Highway Star cover). This is a classic and a good representation of a great time in metal.
Very Strong Debut - This album is probally a better or equal debut to Kill Em All and KIlling Is My Business Very heavy, Raw, fast and great vocals by Wayne. My favorite Metal Church album, all convert to the Metal Church!
